Enviros Nominated For The Awards for Excellence 2006

More than 170 entries were received for the Awards this year, which span 9 categories from local authority to commercial sectors recognising the best in recycling and sustainable approaches to managing waste.

Scottish Water Waste Services (SWWS) and Enviros were invited by to make an application for their Deerdykes Composting and Organics Recycling Facility near Glasgow. Click here to view the case study.

Enviros and SWWS have now been short-listed as a finalist for the Innovation in design of a waste management facility award alongside Shanks Waste Frog Island MBT plant and MRF, and Veolia Environmental Services’ Integra South East energy recovery facility at Portsmouth.

Jeff Cooper, senior vice-president of the CIWM and policy manager with the EA, and chair the judging panel said: “The judges were extremely impressed with the high standard of entries to this year’s awards.”

The awards ceremony where the winner of the award will be announced is to be held on Thursday October 12 at the Savoy Hotel on the Strand in London.
