Sulo Take-Over Cleared for Go Ahead by EU Commission

The European Commission has cleared the proposed acquisition of Germany’s second-largest waste company, Sulo, by Veolia Propreté, the waste operations of the French group Veolia Environnement.

The Commission’s Competition DG – which examined the transaction under the simplified procedure – came to the conclusion that the take-over would not have a significant impact on competition in the single market.

Sulo’s activities are largely focused on Germany – where Veolia’s waste division has only had a small presence so far. More…
