Compostor fined for pollution

Huntingdon Magistrates have imposed a £20,000 fine on composting company ADAS Holdings after it polluted a field and water with 480,000 litres of leachate.

The waste was pumped from a storage lagoon at its Woodhurst site into a field behind the premises, creating a ponded area, and from there into a drain, polluting 1.5km of surface water. Read more at the Environment Agency web site.
